PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device in which an adhesive hardly remains after removing an unnecessary part in a polarizing plate. SOLUTION: The manufacturing apparatus 501 of liquid crystal display device includes: a polarizing plate dividing device 502 applying laser beams of wavelength 0.355 to 10.6μm in order to divide the polarizing plate attached onto a substrate which constitutes a liquid crystal cell; and a polarizing plate stripping device 503 for stripping the unnecessary part in the polarizing plate divided by the laser beams.
