PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-up display for a vehicle, which ensures display visibility with extremely high contrast and reduces the troublesomeness in a state where no display is performed. SOLUTION: In the head-up display adapted to reflect a display light emitted by a display 11 toward a driver by a separate reflector 2 near the position of a front windshield glass 7 and display a virtual image to the driver, the reflector 2 has a reflection surface 21 set to have a background color darker than the display color.
