PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device which acquires high removal performance while suppressing wear of a surface moving member and a cleaning blade as compared with the conventional counter system, and which has a simplified configuration, hardly causes flip-flop, and can prevent faulty cleaning, and an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge and a recording medium conveyance unit including the same. SOLUTION: The cleaning device 30 presses the blade 31 against a photoreceptor 10 surface and removes a deposit on the surface, wherein the blade 31 has two faces adjacent to each other along a contact side, the upstream side face 31a being longer than the downstream side face 31b in a direction perpendicular to the contact side, a blade holder 32 regulates warpage of the blade 31 and is held by a frame 33 on a downstream side of a normal N of a contact portion P in the moving direction of the photoreceptor surface, and the cleaning device includes a brush roller 29 which comes into contact with the photoreceptor 10 on the upstream side of the contact portion P in the moving direction of the photoreceptor 10 surface.
