PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door structure for an automobile making a door function as a swing door in a normal use state, and when a large doorway must be secured, making the door function as a slide door by changing the swing door to the slide door. SOLUTION: This door structure for an automobile comprises the door 3 hinged to a B pillar 4, a detaching means 7a for detaching the B pillar 4 from the body 1a of a vehicle 1, arms 5a, 5b each having one end pivotally supported on the B pillar and the other end pivotally supported on the body of the vehicle, a guide groove 30 formed in the outer side surface of the vehicle, and a part to be guided 20 installed on the door 3, guided by the guide groove 30, and restraining the movement of the door 3.
