The method involves starting a calibration dialog, where a user in a confirmation dialog is requested to press a confirmation key via a keyboard or a stylus such that a dialog function is defined for confirmation of inputs. A request is made for interactive determination of visible and later used display sections. Left and right software keys are queried, where a keyboard code is determined. JAVA(RTM: object-oriented programming language) application software is started using entered calibration information. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a data carrier having instructions to perform a method for calibrating a man-machine-interface of object-oriented programming language application software for a cellular phone (2) software having instructions to perform a method for calibrating a man-machine-interface of object-oriented programming language application software for a cellular phone (3) a data structure having instructions to perform a method for calibrating a man-machine-interface of object-oriented programming language application software for a cellular phone.
