The device (S) has a supporting and/or fixing unit (2) for fitting and fastening to a bone e.g. finger bone, and a contact surface (7) for guiding a tool e.g. saw blade. A connection unit (3) provides a positive connection to an adapter unit that is suitable directly or indirectly for the tool for producing a cavity in the bone. The contact surface extends perpendicular to a longitudinal extension of the device. Multiple boreholes (5) cooperate with fastening units i.e. Kirschner wires, for fastening the device at the bone.
