A wire for submerged arc welding is provided to perform melting by improving heat transfer efficiency by flowing of an electric current into an outer circumference and an inner circumference of the wire thorough a through-hole formed into a longitudinal direction of the wire. In a wire(100) for submerged arc welding, a through-hole(200) is formed to a longitudinal direction of the wire. An external diameter the wire is 4.5~7.0 phi(&Oslash). An inside diameter of the through-hole is 1.5~2.0 phi. Gas generated under welding work is discharge through the through-hole. An electric current flowing into an outer circumference and an inner circumference of the wire is capable of performing the stable welding work.
