MOVING OBJECT DETECTING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A method for detecting a moving object and a system thereof are provided to extract an encoded difference image from an image, and measure the degree of important motion from the encoded difference image, thereby calculating the motion of the object in a given direction at a high speed. A difference image generating unit(200) generates a difference image including a plurality of plus nodes and a plurality of minus nodes by using the previous image and current image. A important motion calculating unit(300) searches minus nodes corresponding to each plus node within the generated difference image. A motion block detecting unit(400) selects a block in which important motion is the largest among the plural blocks as a reference block based on the calculated total cost. A motion block connection member(500) connects a block located around the reference block to the selected reference block based on the size and direction of the important motion.
