<p>The method involves perforating a continuously transported web (10) by holes (12) e.g. drinking straw holes, at predetermined transverse positions. A passage of the holes through detection lines (30, 32, 34) is detected by detectors (18, 20, 22), where the detection lines (30, 32) run perpendicular and transverse to a transport direction of the web, respectively. The transverse positions of the holes are determined based on length of a time interval elapsed between the passage of the holes through the detection lines. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring a transverse position of a continuously transported web.</p> |
