METHOD FOR TREATING SEIZURE SYNDROME IN PATIENTS WITH TETANUS

A method for treating the seizure syndrome in the patients with tetanus provides for the use of the narcotic analgesic and anesthetic in the setting of magnesium sulfate therapy. Phentanyl 0.005% is used as the short-term narcotic analgesic at a dose of 3 μg/kg (bolus infusion). Sodium oxybutirate 20% is also infused in bolus mode at a dose of 30 μg/kg. Then Phentanyl 0.005% is used in a permanent infusion mode at a dose of 2.8 μg/kg/h and sodium oxybutirate 20% is infused in the same mode at a dose of 30 μg/kg/h until the cessation of the seizures.
