A display apparatus using monitoring a light source is provided to improve deterioration of image by a pixel by using an additional monitoring light source. In a display device using a monitoring light source, a monitoring light for measuring the displacement dispersion of the micromirror of the light modulator is irradiated. An optical modulator(130) modulates an incident and generates a diffraction light having diffraction difference. On the optical path which the diffracted light of the monitoring light progresses, the wavelength selection filter, and the optical sensor are disposed and the quantity of light of the diffracted light of the monitoring light is measured.
