SVC VIDEO EXTRACTION APPARATUS FOR REAL-TIME VIDEO STREAM AND THE METHOD THEREOF

An SVC(Scalable Video Coding) video data extracting apparatus for the real-time streaming service and a method thereof are provided to extract SVC video data, having the image quality demanded by a user, in real time in the streaming service environment using the SVC video coding method, and transmit the extracted data to the user. An SEI(Supplemental Enhancement Information) data analysis module(310) analyzes the SEI data of inputted SVC video data to obtain information of an input layer. A target layer information generating module(320) calculates the layer information of SVC video data to be outputted according to the request of a user. An SEI data generating module(330) produces SEI data corresponding with for the layer information calculated by the target layer information generating module. A target layer extracting module(340) extracts target layers recorded in the SEI data produced from the inputted SVC video data.
