A method and an apparatus for evaluating performance of a test case are provided to perform evaluation of the test case based on error detection ability of the test case used in the test of the program. A method and an apparatus for evaluating performance of a test case comprise the following processes. An error program generator receives a target program and an error type to be inserted into the target program(200). The error program generator inserts an error to the target program and generates an error program(208). An error detector executes the test case to the error program and detects an error(210). An evaluated score calculation module produces the evaluation score of the test case(212).
