The invention relates to a torque transmission device such as a fixed homocinetic ball joint used as a counter track joint and method for the production thereof. The curvatures of the base of the track joint deviate in its axial path from the curvatures of the lines of contact of the ball. The method is characterised in that the component is hardened by the hardening process prior to the formation of a longitudinal profile and a diffusion layer is partially/completely removed in the region of the longitudinal profiled structure.
