The present invention provides a fully enclosed wrap-around carton (10) for bottles and cans that can be tightly packaged. The carton has triangular panels (92, 96, 102, 106, 112, 116, 122, 126) between the ends of the lower side panel (26) and each lower end flap (30) that diverge away from the bottom panel (12). There are a pair of triangular panels between the sloping upper side panel (38) and each upper end flap (40) that diverge away from th e top panel. These triangular panels tighten the carton against bottles or cans packaged therein.
