Electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery is provided to obtain a lithium secondary battery with excellent fire retardancy and improved battery performance, by including a cyclic organophosphate compound as a flame retardant additive. Electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery comprises a lithium salt, solvent, and a cyclic organophosphate compound represented by the following chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are independently C1-10 alkyl group and a part or the whole of the hydrogen of the alkyl group can be substituted as fluorine. The cyclic organophosphate is haxamethoxy cyclo tri-phosphazene or haxaethoxy cyclo tri-phosphazene. |
