Compounds represented by the alpha-amino acid derivative or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof of the present invention have a therapeutic effect due to a DPP-IV inhibitory action and useful as pharmaceutical agents for the treatment and/or prophylaxis of diseases relating to a DPP-IV inhibitor.
