<p>A device and a method for driving a touch pad are provided to scan all channels only in a touched area in the n-1 th scanning and an area adjacent to the touched area when performing the n the scanning, thereby selecting and scanning one channel among a plurality of channels in the other areas. An input unit receives an electrical signal according to touch from a channel of a touch pad(101). A CDC unit(102) determines whether it is touched by processing the electrical signal. An SRAM(104) stores data determined in the CDC unit with location information of a corresponding touch pad. An output unit outputs data of a memory unit to another element connected to a touch pad driving chip(100). A control logic unit(103) controls the input unit, the CDC unit, the memory unit and the output unit. The control logic unit comprises a channel selector. The channel selector divides the touch pad into a plurality of areas to determine the number of channels selected and scanned per a channel per each area.</p> |
