A tensioning system for a drive belt (18) of a blower of a forage harvester, comprises a tensioning roller (22), a rod (34) for moving the tensioning roller (22) towards and away from the belt (18), a spring (40) surrounding the rod (34) and acting between a first abutment (36) mounted on the rod (34) and a second abutment (42) connected to the chassis (10) of the harvester to urge the roller (22) towards the belt (18). The chassis connected abutment (42) is carried by an arm (26) that is movable relative to the chassis (10) and anchored by means of a tie bar (30).
