A facsimile call processing method and an apparatus using a MEGACO protocol capable of a fax communication through media codec selection and conversion between an originating terminal and a receiving terminal are provided to improve the stability and the efficiency of a facsimile call. A soft switch(120) receives the notification signal for a fax call from an originating mobile(110) and a receiving terminal(130). The soft switch receives the fax codec information of the received terminal from the received terminal. The soft switch transmits the received fax codec information to the originating mobile. The soft switch receives the fax codec information of the originating mobile. The soft switch delivers the received fax codec information to the received terminal. The soft switch uses the fax codec information of the originating mobile and the fax codec information of the received terminal. |
