DISPLAY WITH PDP AS BACKLIGHT

A display with PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is provided to drastically lower the power consumption and thickness by using thin PDP as a back light. A PDP(1) and a display panel(2) are installed in a housing(5). A light diffusion plate(4) is installed between the PDP and the display panel. The PDP is driven by a sustain part(3) except for the erasing portion and the addressing portion. The display panel is arranged at the front side of PDP. The light diffusion plate is arranged to be distanced from the PDP. The light emitted from PDP is diffused by the light diffusion plate and whole uniform light is provided to the display panel.
