The valve has a conical valve seat formed at an inlet bend. The valve is formed as a pre-finished tubular insertion valve (45) with a complete valve mechanism and is arranged in a shell pipe (47). A sealing ring is attached at a lower end of the shell pipe such that the ring attains sealing attachment with the valve seat in an inlet bend, when the insertion valve slides into a riser pipe (5) of a fire hydrant. A radially acting seal is arranged at an upper end of the insertion valve, and is sealably fitted at an inner wall (105) of the riser pipe. An independent claim is also included for a valve arrangement with a valve and an anchoring device.
