An input resistance for the high voltage circuit breaker is provided to disperse the heat from the resistive elements of the input resistance by using a plurality of cooling elements. The resistance arrangement(18) comprises 3 active groups(56). The active groups are serially arranged along the second housing axis. The medial axis(A) of the resistance arrangement coincides with the second housing axis. One of two terminal contact units(50, 52) is arranged in two end part regions of the support tube. Terminal contact units are connected to the conductor. Each of active groups comprises a plurality of cooling elements(60).
