The device has a photoreceptor (PIX) including a photodiode (D) discharged in a readout node (SN) through a MOS transistor (M4). The readout node is connected to a terminal of another MOS transistor (M2), where a source of the transistor (M2) is connected to a processing system. A bias circuit has a switch (SW) connecting the source of the transistor (M2) to a charge voltage (Vclamp) for increasing the potential of the source of the transistor (M2), when the photodiode is discharged toward the readout node. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a photoreceptor comprising a photodiode.
