A cinerary urn having a sealed structure and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture cinerary urns with timber at low cost while preventing the deformation or crack by drying the timber and coating the dried timber with lacquer. A cinerary urn having a sealed structure comprises a body(6) having an open top and a receiving part inside, a cover(8) which is screwed with the opening of the body in order to seal the receiving part, and a connection part(10) in which the screw thread coated with Teflon or the screw thread made of Teflon is combined in the opening of the body. The body and the cover are made with timber which is dried by a vacuum high frequency apparatus to contain the moisture of 6~8% and coated with lacquer.
