The structure has purlins (2) made of cold profiled thin sheet iron and comprising a perforated core (2a) bordered by upper and lower sole plates (2b, 2c). The purlins are fixed on rafters (1) by cleats (5). Covering panels (3) are made of ribbed sheet iron and fixed to the purlins by the plates. Each panel has an upstream edge (3a) and a downstream edge (3b) with respect to a slope of a roof. Each panel is fixed by its upstream edge on the lower plate and by its downstream edge on the upper plate. The lower plate supports the upstream edge, and the upper plate supports the downstream edge.
