PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system and an image processing method for easily determining whether a letter written by a user is discontinued in the case where a photograph image and a hand-written letter are synthesized using a mark sheet. SOLUTION: The image processing system includes a print control means for printing a region mark indicating a photograph image region and a free drawing region on a page under the recognizable state in addition to the results of synthesizing the photograph image region and the free drawing region. Moreover, the system also includes a read control means for controlling an image pickup section to read images in the free drawing region from a sheet which is printed by the print control means and records an object recorded in the free drawing region. Further, an example of the image processing system includes a synthesizing means for synthesizing images in the free drawing region read by the image pickup section and the photograph image and a determination assisting means for assisting determination as to whether the desired results will be obtained in the case where the image synthesized by the synthesizing means is printed.
