PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing a support member from coming off from a unit without increasing rigidity of the support member. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a unit (40) detachable from an apparatus main body (2), and including a second press-contact member (18b) moving toward a first press-contact member (12), an elastic member energizing the second press-contact member toward the first press-contact member and the support member (50) supporting the rotary shaft (18c) of the second press-contact member. The support member has a nearly circular-arc shaped support part (52) holding the rotary shaft against the energizing force of the elastic member and also having a center eccentric from the axial center of the rotary shaft in a horizontal direction, and leg parts (54) respectively formed at both ends of the support part and engaged with the unit by extending and opening the respective edges.
