A method of connecting and holding a plurality of individual waffle pods in a matrix said method comprising the steps of placing two or more of said waffle pods in position and subsequently joining adjacent waffle pods together from above using a spacer means characterised in that said spacer means engages the respective tops of adjacent waffle pods by piercing the respective tops of adjacent pods.
