A lever whose one end is turnably supported to a rack by a shaft is arranged. A long groove is arranged in a direction substantially vertical to a transfer direction of an optical pickup either on the other end of the lever or on a base chassis. A fulcrum member is arranged on the other end of the lever so that the fulcrum member is turnably and slidably engaged with the long groove and slides along the long groove when the optical pickup is transferred. A coil spring is arranged over from a prescribed position of a base chassis to a middle position of the lever so that an urging force is applied to the rack for making the rack and the teeth on a gear row abut to each other. The coil spring constantly applies an urging force in a direction of turning the lever by having the other end of the lever as a fulcrum and the one end as the operating point.
