Both stages of gearing (12, 13) are arranged inside the cage (7). By engaging one of these two gearing stages with one of the two drive wheels (10, 11), a given velocity ratio of the differential is selected. Each of the two gearing stages (12, 13) comprises a hollow wheel (14, 15). Each of these respectively, is arranged with the drive wheel (10, 11) of the respective gearing stage (12, 13) and rotates with it (10, 11). Each stage (12, 13) includes a second hollow wheel (16, 17) arranged respectively on an inner side of the cage, facing the drive wheel (10, 11) associated with the respective gearing stage (12, 13).
