<p>A process for moistening or conditioning textile yarn in which the moisture content has been reduced to a residual value lower than its original moisture content during spinning, by the action of water vapor under reduced pressure with cooling on yarn which is processed to yarn spools and partly arranged on a support, in which the yarn, after treatment with water vapour, is subjected to active cooling in the same space or a downstream space or zone with the addition of sprayed water during cooling. An independent claim is included for a system for carrying out the above process, with conveyors enabling at least semi-continuous throughput of the yarn to be treated and several zones or stations along a processing section, comprising a passive precooling zone or station if required, at least one active cooling zone or station in which air-cooling occurs in at least one closeable cooling space separate from the moistening device or in a cooling section to which a moistening device is connected, at least one vacuum moistener and at least one active cooling zone or station which is identical with or different from the moistening device in the form of a closeable air-cooling space or section connected to the moistener, in which the walls of the cooling zone/station are coated with a water-resistant or water vapour-resistant, thermally insulating material which absorbs neither water vapor nor water.</p> |
