摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery showing an electrode potential of around 1.5 V equivalent to a conventional titanic acid-based material in lithium reference and having a higher energy density. <P>SOLUTION: The anode active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery consists of lithium titanium complex oxide expressed in a general formula: Li<SB>2+x</SB>Ti<SB>4</SB>O<SB>9</SB>(provided, x in the formula satisfies: 0&le;x&le;4), with a maximum intensity peak of a (002) face at 2&theta;=10&deg;&plusmn;2&deg; by a powder X-ray diffraction method with Cu-K&alpha; beam sources, further, a peak of a (402) face at 2&theta;=30&deg;&plusmn;2&deg; and a peak of a (020) face at 2&theta;=48&deg;&plusmn;2&deg;, and with a half-value width of the maximum intensity at 0.5&deg; to 3.0&deg;/2&theta;. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
