PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform settlement processing without dealing with a specification change. SOLUTION: A settlement terminal includes: a connection part 14 for connection to an ECR (Electronic Cash Resister) 2 having a display part 33 for outputting data and a printing part 37; and a CPU 11 which, when receiving a settlement indication from the ECR 2 through the connection pat 14, transmits an instruction to output a guidance message for use in settlement processing to the display part 33, to the ECR 2 through the connection part 14 to perform settlement processing and transmits an instruction to output sales slip data from the printing part 37, to the ECR 2 through the connection part 14.
