PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve estimation precision of spectral characteristics of an object by reducing the estimation error of a spectral characteristic value caused by characteristic change of observation noise characteristics accompanying shading correction processing. SOLUTION: An illumination image acquisition control part 161 controls an image acquisition part 110 to acquire illumination images imaging a background without any sample while illuminating illumination light. A correction coefficient calculation part 151 calculates a correction coefficient of each pixel based on pixel values of the illumination images. An observation noise characteristic determination part 155 determines the observation noise characteristics in the prescribed pixels composing object images based on the correction coefficient of prescribed pixels. A shading correction part 156 performs shading correction processing on object sample images by using correction coefficient of each pixel calculated with the correction coefficient calculation part 151. A spectral characteristic estimation part 157 estimates spectral transmittance of an object sample point corresponding to the prescribed pixels composing the object sample images by using the observation noise characteristics in the prescribed pixels.
