PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take an image of a visitor pressing a call button or an image of an entrance circumference during monitoring with a camera equipped with a slave unit located at the entrance after irradiation of light according to the brightness of the entrance. SOLUTION: If brightness detected by a slave unit 1a at the entrance is less than a predetermined value, which occurs when the visitor presses the call button during the night, a white light emission unit 107 of the slave unit at the entrance is driven by the control of a master unit 2a in a living room. The image of the visitor irradiated with the white light can be taken by the camera 101a and output to a monitor 200 as an image that is sufficiently bright and highly visible. Furthermore, if brightness around the entrance to be monitored is less than a predetermined value, which occurs during the night, an infrared ray emission unit is driven by the control of a CPU of the master unit in the living room. The image of the entrance circumference irradiated with the infrared rays can be taken by the camera and output to the monitor as an image that is sufficiently bright and highly visible.
