PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content viewing system in which a user can perform viewing of a desired content suitably. SOLUTION: When content being viewed by any one of the television receiver 10 and the portable device 20 in the content viewing system 100 is viewed continuously by the other television receiver 10 or portable device 20, information (content information) about the content is shared between the television receiver 10 and the portable device 20 through communication via a television side communication section 17 and a portable device side communication section 27 by operating at least one of a television side operating section 16 and a portable device side operating section 26 so that the content can be viewed and listened continuously on the other side depending on the setting based on that content information.
