PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press forming die which has a simple constitution, and in which an upper-die insert is supported so as to be elevated and lowered with respect to an upper-die die plate and the insert is easily assembled to the upper-die die plate by setting the interval between the upper-die die plate and the upper-die insert large. SOLUTION: In the press forming die, the upper die 1 is provided with the upper-die insert 10 and the frame-like upper-die die plate 11 which is arranged around the insert 10 and the upper-die insert 10 is supported so as to be elevated and lowered with respect to the upper-die die plate 11 and a lower die 2 is provided with the lower-die insert 20 and a frame-like stripper plate 21 which is arranged around the insert 20 and the stripper plate 21 is supported so as to be elevated and lowered with respect to the lower-die insert 20. The upper-die insert 10 is slidably inserted into an upper-die insert guide post 12 which is erected on the upper-die die plate 11 and its elevating and lowering movement is guided.
