PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which even if high-mix low-volume castings are cast by using a sand treatment apparatus having standard or average treatment capacity, the sand treatment apparatus can treat the recovered sand in accordance with the difference of the thickness of green sand molds. SOLUTION: In the method, the feed of the recovered sand to the sand treatment apparatus is adjusted for treating recovered sand into green sand for molding green sand molds and casting high-mix low-volume castings by using the sand treatment apparatus having standard or average treatment capacity. In the method, in accordance with the difference in the molding cycle time of a green sand mold molding machine and the thickness of the green sand molds, the knock out time for the green sand mold after pouring is delayed in the case the green sand mold is thick, and further, the time is accelerated in the case it is thin, and the knock out time for each green sand mold after pouring is adjusted.
