PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of coating a plate-like building material having excellent appearance by preventing the occurrence of un-coated parts, double coating or coating unevenness. SOLUTION: In the method of coating the plate-like building material, an inkjet head 11 (11b) having an ink discharge port 13 is arranged in an outside position obliquely upward with respect to the peripheral side part 22a of the plate-like material 2 held horizontally, ink droplets A are discharged obliquely upward from the ink discharge port toward a corner part 22 where the surface 20 crosses the edge part 21 in the peripheral side part of the plate-like building material to coat a neighborhood region of the corner part lying across the surface and the edge part where includes the corner part in the peripheral side part of the plate-like building material.
