PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with which a dust collecting device can be attached easily to a dust collecting device containing chamber and can enhance attachment operability efficiency. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes a cleaner main body 1 having an inlet port 4 in its front and an electric blower chamber 5 for containing an electric blower 6, a dust collecting device containing chamber 9 recessed in the front of the cleaner main body 1 and formed on a blowing passage from the inlet port 4 of the cleaner main body 1 to the electric blower chamber 5, and a dust collecting device 20 which is detachably attached to the dust collecting device containing chamber 9. The dust collecting device 20 includes a roughly cylindrical dust collecting case 21, filters 23 and 25 attached in the dust collecting case 21, and a cover 24 which closes the opening formed on the upper side of the dust collecting case 21 and has an outlet port 44 through which the air passed through the filters 23 and 25 passes. On the rear side of the dust collecting device containing chamber 9, an inlet port 11 with which the outlet port 44 of the dust collecting device 20 is jointed air-tightly is formed.
