APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING HOT-DIP METAL PLATED STEEL BAND

An apparatus for manufacturing a hot-dip metal plated steel band, adapted to blow a gas against a steel band (2) continuously drawn up from a molten metal plating bath (8) from wiping nozzles (3) disposed on both sides of the steel band (2) in opposed relationship so as to have the same interposed therebetween superior to the molten metal plating bath (8) to thereby control the thickness of adhering metal. In the apparatus, on both sides of the steel band (2) superior to in-bath support rolls (5) but inferior to the bath surface, flow regulating plates (1) each having a roll covering part provided so as to cover at least bath-surface-side 1/4 of the outer circumferential surface of each of the in-bath support rolls (5) and a steel band facing part disposed superior to the roll covering part and arranged so as to face the steel band are provided in non-contact with the steel band (2) and the in-bath support rolls (5). The steel band facing part of each of the flow regulating plates (1) is connected to the steel-band-side end portion of the roll covering part.
