<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment and a fuel cell, in which operation of the fuel cell can be controlled by an external operation. <P>SOLUTION: For example, in the case a power source is cut off by an owner of the equipment on his/her own will at a place such as an airplane or a concert hall where the power source of the equipment must be cut off, by an operation of a sliding member 6, an air intake port 4a of the electronic equipment main body 1 is closed and air supply to the fuel cell 3 is stopped, and after the concentration of the oxygen in the fuel cell generating part A (cell) 301a is detected to be at a prescribed value or lower by a state detecting part 10 from the output of an air sensor 101, a state detection signal is generated.
