PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a distance between pixels without increasing PN junction capacitance. SOLUTION: This photoelectric converter is composed by arranging a plurality of pixels each including a first conductivity first impurity region 102 constituting a photoelectric conversion region, and a second conductivity second impurity region 105 arranged in the first impurity region and constituting a signal extraction region. In the photoelectric converter, first conductivity third impurity regions 103 and first conductivity fourth impurity regions 104 are arranged around the respective pixels in order to isolate the respective pixels from one another; the fourth impurity regions are located between the adjacent pixels; and the impurity concentration of the fourth impurity region is lower than that of the third impurity region.
