PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which non-printing-object-paper sheet obtained by cutting large-sized paper is stored into a corresponding paper supply tray without adding a special conveying path. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a system control device. The system control device conveys the non-printing-object-paper P2 obtained by cutting the large-sized paper by a cutting mechanism 202 from the cutting mechanism 202 to a registration roller 24 by carrying out forward rotational control of a paper supply roller 142 and paper conveying rollers 152 and 151, stops the non-printing-object-paper P2 by controlling the conveying mechanism, conveys the non-printing-object-paper P2 in a reverse direction by carrying out reverse rotational control of the registration roller 24, the paper conveying roller 151 and the paper supply roller 141, and then stores the paper into the A4 paper supply tray 111. A posture switching guide 311 guiding to an A4 paper supply tray 111 and an function canceling an energized state of an energizing means 131 are added as needed in connection with the above.
