PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmission efficiency in transmitting video data to a plurality of kinds of video receivers. SOLUTION: A control part 20 of intercom secondary master units 2A, 2B and 2C reads information showing its own receiving capability and processing capability prestored in a memory and notifies a repeater 4 of the read receiving capability and processing capability. When relaying video data received from an intercom master unit 1 being a video transmitter to the intercom secondary master units 2A, 2B and 2C being video receivers, a control part 41 of the repeater 4 refers to the above information of the respective intercom secondary master units 2A, 2B and 2C and transmits video data obtained by thinning I frames or P frames so as to be a data amount corresponding to the respective capabilities. An appropriate data amount of video data corresponding to the receiving capability, the processing capability or the like of the respective video receivers (the intercom secondary master units 2A, 2B and 2C) therefore can be transmitted, so that the transmission efficiency can be improved more than a case where a data amount of video data is fixed.
