PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove and clean only a carrier roller of staining paper by an image forming device. SOLUTION: A carrying passage of the image forming device has a main carrying passage 4 of juxtaposing a sensor 12 and an inkjet device 11, and a reversal passage 5 merging on the upstream side of the sensor by branching off from the downstream side of the inkjet device. Nip type carrier rollers (1)-(9) existing in the main carrying passage and the reversal passage, are arranged in a plurality of positions mutually different in the width direction of paper for associating a stain caused in the paper by retransfer from the carrier rollers with the carrier roller of causing the stain. After printing a surface of double-sided printing, printing paper of putting an unprinted surface on an upside by reversing, enters the main carrying passage. The carrier roller of the cause is specified from a position in the width direction of the stained paper detected by the sensor, and only the roller is removed and cleaned.
