<p>It is intended to provide a drainage device for ophthalmic surgery wherein a good drainage ability can be continuously ensured by a simple constitution without resorting to use an aspirator or the like. A drainage device (1) comprising a main body (2), drooping members (3), a leg member (4) provided on the back face of the main body (2), and a projecting member (5) projecting into the optic fissure. The main body (2) and the drooping members (3) are made of a paper, which has a wettable surface and prevents water from penetrating into the inside thereof, and molded in an all-in-one manner into a roughly trapezoidal shape as a whole. The side edges (23, 24) of the main body (2) are formed so as to follow the lid margin (E3) in the vicinity of the lateral angle of eye (E4). Between the main body (2) and a sterile seal (S), a gap (G) is formed. The drooping members (3) extend inward from the lid margin (E3). When a liquid (L2) is pooled within the optic fissure (E5) and comes into contact with the bottom end of the drooping members (3), the liquid (L2) is drawn into the gap among the drooping members (3), the lid margin (E3) and the back face of the main body (2) due to the wettability of the drooping members (3) (or the stickiness of the liquid (L2)) and flows through the gap (G) between the main body (2) and a sterile seal (S) toward the downstream side. Thus, the liquid (L2) can be discharged from the optic fissure (E5) without requiring an aspirator or the like.</p> |
