PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens interchangeable type digital camera system capable of performing AF, at high speed and with high accuracy. SOLUTION: While a focusing lens 211 is driven in a lens unit 20, an AF evaluated value necessary for AF, obtained from an output from an imaging device 102 and the exposure time for the imaging device 102 are recorded in an information-recording means 107 in a camera body 10, and positional information of the focusing lens 211 and the time in the lens unit 20 are recorded in an information-recording means 209 with a predetermined timing in the lens unit 20, then focusing lens positional information where the AF evaluated value becomes a maximum is calculated arithmetically by an information-collating means 109, on the basis of the AF evaluated value and the exposure time recorded in the information-recording means 107 of the camera body 10, and the focusing lens positional information and the time in the lens recorded in the information-recording means 209 of the lens unit 20.
