PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently input data in searching for a destination without having to change the screen depending on the search item such as category, name, etc. SOLUTION: For an input search character, destination data is narrowed down for each search item. The resultant destination data obtained as a result of the narrowing down process for each search item is stored in association with the corresponding search character strings. Thereafter, destination data, which are included in all the destination data stored for each search character string, are extracted (by performing a logical AND operation), and resultant destination data are displayed as destination candidates. Thus, search can be performed simply by inputting information that a user knows in the order the user thinks of (in an arbitrary order) without being conscious of not only name but also type or place name (address) when the user inputs a search character.
